AAW Announces New Officers and Award Recipients


New officers elected at the American Agri-Women 36th Annual Meeting were vice-president for education Lisa Condon, Horicon, WI, and secretary, Jody Elrod, Sinton, TX. Continuing officers are Chris Wilson, president, Manhattan, KS; Karen Yost, first vice-president, Billings, MT; vice-president for communications, Linda Swiercinsky, Maquon, IL; and treasurer Carolyn Kleiber, Hillsboro, KS.

Elected to AAW's educational arm, the Resource Center, were Jane Marshall, Eaton, OH; Dolly Lillis, Dalton Gardens, ID; and Sue McCrum, Mars Hills, ME.

Two women received AAW's highest honor, the Leaven Award: Marcie Williams of Ohio and Gerry Ottosen of Oregon.  The Veritas Award, presented to someone outside of agriculture who speaks for truth, was given to Henry Lamb of Sovereignty International and Blake Hurst, Missouri farmer.

President's Awards were presented as follows: Vision Awards: Danell Kalcevik, Colorado; Cari Rincker, New York; Elaine Gaesser, IA; Brenda Lammens, Denise Zaborowski, and Susan Fitzgerald, Ontario, CA; Affiliate Presidents Awards: JoAnn Wall, California; Brenda Sellers, Sigma Alpha; Sue Kruger, Minnesota; Heidi Kathrens, Colorado; Outstanding Service: Arrwen McGilvra, Oregon; Doris Mold, Minnesota; Mary Mertz, Kansas; Abby Amick, Kansas; Kathy Reavis, Texas; Ruth Jensen, California; Arlene Kovash, Oregon; Linda Swiercinsky, Illinois.
