AAW Policy Bites: Trade & Market Access:

Topic: Sanctions & Agricultural Exports

American farmers depend on access to global markets. When foreign sanctions are used as political tools, they can block critical trade routes and harm U.S. agriculture. AAW supports protecting ag exports from being caught in unrelated foreign policy disputes.

📌 Our Position: AAW opposes using U.S. agricultural products as leverage in foreign sanctions. We support maintaining open markets for food and fiber, even during geopolitical conflict.

🚢 Why It Matters: Sanctions that restrict U.S. ag exports reduce farm income, create global supply chain instability, and weaken rural economies. Trade should be consistent, reliable, and free from political interference.
