AAW Policy Bites: Water Rights & Resource Management

Water is the lifeblood of agriculture, essential for food production, livestock, and rural economies. AAW supports policies that protect farmers’ access to water while balancing conservation efforts to sustain long-term productivity.

📌 Our Position: AAW believes agriculture should be the top priority for water allocation. We oppose federal overreach that restricts farmers’ ability to manage their own water resources. We also support investments in irrigation, water storage, and infrastructure that help ensure a reliable water supply for agricultural needs.

💧 Why It Matters: Without reliable access to water, farms cannot operate effectively. Regulations that fail to consider agricultural needs put food production, businesses, and consumers at risk. Responsible water management policies help farmers remain productive while protecting this critical resource for future generations.
