🍽️ AAW Policy Bites: Water Rights & Resource Management

Topic: WOTUS & Regulatory Overreach

When federal agencies redefine “navigable waters,” farmers are often left navigating red tape. AAW believes water regulations must be clear, science-based, and respect private property rights.

📌 Our Position: AAW opposes overly broad definitions of “Waters of the U.S.” (WOTUS) that allow unnecessary federal control over ditches, ponds, and non-navigable water features on farmland. We support limiting regulation to truly navigable waters.

💧 Why It Matters: Vague or expansive water rules can delay conservation efforts, increase costs, and make routine farm work a legal headache. Farmers are stewards of the land—they need flexibility, not overreach.
