Topic: Export Market Development
Strong exports keep American agriculture growing. AAW supports policies that expand overseas markets, reduce trade barriers, and promote U.S. food and fiber abroad.
📌 Our Position: AAW advocates for programs like USDA’s Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development Program (FMD) that help U.S. producers compete internationally. We support fair trade agreements that open new opportunities while enforcing existing commitments.
🚢 Why It Matters: Over 20% of U.S. agricultural products are exported. Without strong global markets, farm income shrinks and rural economies suffer. Trade growth means farm growth.
